Global Warming Myth

The articles examines some of the most common global warming myths. Global warming myth number one is that global warming is not cause by human activities. The most common global warming myth is that "we are too small and insignificant to cause any climate change." That statement can't be further from the truth. We are more than 6 billion and the number is increasing all the time. We are breathing out CO2, 90% of our cars are absolutely fuel inefficient and are filling the atmosphere with CO2, in fact our buildings are the number one CO2 producer. Unless we manage to somehow regulate the growth of the population, this will get worse. World population would not be a problem if there were unlimited land, unlimited water, unlimited resources. But unfortunately, resources are limit, and right now we are acting as if we are a virus on this planet. Eventually, the pie will get smaller, while the number of people will only get bigger. We need a more efficient use of the available resources.

With all the things that are happening around us, it's hard to believe that there are still people who think that global warming is a myth. The only myth is that global warming is some type of hoax propagation by some lunatic tree huggers from all over the world. The evidence is in front of our eyes, loud and clear. Let's just mention some of the global warming facts: half of the world's wetlands were lost last century; soil degradation has affected two-thirds of the world's agricultural lands in the last 50 years; 400,000 square miles of Arctic sea ice have melted.

It's time for us to wake up. Global warming is not a myth. It's real! And it's getting more evident with each day. People who don't care about the environment, or those who make money out of the whole thing should stop hiding behind the notion that there is a conspiracy and a "global warming myth".

The vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is real, it's already happening, and that it is the result of our activities and not a natural occurrence. Those are the hard-core facts, not some global warming myths. But as Upton Sinclair, author of "The Jungle", put it - "You can't make somebody understand something if their salary depends upon them not understanding it." Those of us who are intelligent enough to know that global warming is not a myth, should try to make a difference in their personal lives and they way we interact with the environment. Everyone of us can plant a tree and that's a very good way to start.
