Natural Causes Of Global Warming

Natural causes of global warming along with the other type of causes - man made, are the reasons for the occurrence of this phenomenon. So we divide the causes of global warming into two groups - natural and man-made. Obviously, natural causes of global warming are created by nature. An example of such could be the release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands. As scientists point out, methane is a greenhouse gas so it adds up to the greenhouse effect.

Another natural cause lays in the fact that our planet goes through a cycle of climate change. This cycle usually lasts about 40,000 years. As a matter of fact, some scientists believe that we are on the verge of another ice age, because when an ice age is about to begin, global warming occurs, just as it is happening now. All the events are logically connected and trigger each other. The oceans that are currently heating up, cause the precipitation to increase. This of course causes an increased amount of snowfall, which will reflect away solar energy and trigger a cool-down. Since the last ice age, the oceans have heating continuously. And because the oceans are heating up more than the atmosphere, the arctic ice is starting to melt faster than expected.

According to some scientists, global warming is not causes by the increased amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and that there is no such thing as greenhouse effect. Here is how they explain their theory. "Greenhouse gases" absorb all radiation available to them in a few meters. More of the gas cannot absorb more radiation. A thick sheet of plastic does nothing more than a thin sheet. Doubling the CO2 would only shorten the distance for absorption of radiation from 10 meters to 5 meters, which is not an increase in temperature. You can even find a quantitative explanation at http://nov55.com/gbwm.html.

These scientists actually think that there are only natural causes for global warming, with the main cause being an increase in the solar energy, which is due to variations in heat from the earth's core. Their idea is that the oceans are not heating up, because of the increased temperature in the atmosphere, but because of the heat from the earth's core. There seems to be some common sense in this theory. if you think about it, 90% of the arctic ice is below the surface-exposed to water, not air-and water has the heat capacity needed for melting. Their standpoint is based on the fact that there are variations in heat from the earth's core, which is proved by the exact cycling of ice ages.
